That said, gone are the days of ultra baggy jeans (really, it’s time to donate those!) paired with hoodies you get lost finding your way out of. Today’s urban style takes on a relaxed, but slightly fitted look — cool sophistication.

This casual urban look blends the current modern prep trend with street style, which is fresh and contemporary. The jeans are probably the most important part of the outfit because they’re a wardrobe staple. We like these by Paige Denim because they’re just the right fit without giving up the slightest big of slouch at the ankle. Yohji Yamamoto trainers are an investment, but they bring high style to the overall look. The wool cardigan calls days of prep school to mind, and is nicely balanced by the diamond cap, which rounds out the style.

Of course, modern prep makes an appearance with a colourful collared shirt layered beneath a fitted crew neck sweater, but the geek chic pops with an unexpected special edition bowtie.
